1. Create your account
Head to /login and sign in with Google or email. You'll land on the dashboard with an empty agent list.
2. Create an agent
Click New agent. Pick the type:
- Chat agent — answers questions from your knowledge base, captures leads, lives anywhere on the web.
- Try-on bot — shows customers wearing your product. Locked to your store domain.
3. Fill in the basics
- Profile — name, slug, avatar, one-line description.
- Personality — voice, rules, what to never say.
- Knowledge — paste a URL of your site or upload a PDF. The agent crawls and remembers.
That's enough to ship. Tools, Memory, and Styling are polish — add them later.
4. Test it in the preview
Every agent has a live preview pane in the editor. Type a few customer questions. If answers feel off, edit Personality or add to Knowledge. Repeat until you trust it.
5. Publish
Open the Publish tab. You get:
- A public link:
askthe.bot/a/your-slug— share anywhere. - An embed snippet — paste into your site for a floating chat bubble or try-on button.
- Optional custom domain like
chat.yourdomain.com.
6. Install on your store
Pick your platform and follow the step-by-step:
